General Description: The regency of buleleng is situated in the northern part of bali, covering an area1370 sq kilometer. Geographically, it is the largest locality among eight regencies in bali, covering almost one third of bali locality of 5632 sq. Kilometers. A chain of volcanic hills divides bali in half. Balinese call seven regencies on the south of the hill den bukit literally in english it mean on the hills is called bali kelod or north bali.On the alluvial slopes of the hills covered in ritzy volcanic ash which is ritzy with mountain streams, tropical forest, coffee, clove plantations, prehistoric tree-ferns, wildflowers, creepers and orchids. While on the plain, rice, soybeans, peanuts, maze and tobacco are planted. Palm grow abundantly along the coast.Two lakes, appear to be a twin lake, lake buyan and tamblingan are located in the regency of buleleng. On the north, buleleng is border by a draw out of coast line of around 144 kilometers in length. Generally the beach consists of black coloured sand. For those who dislike the colour of the sand, this colour is off-set by its calm sea appropriate for skin-diving and snorkeling to enjoy coral reefs teeming with a variety of radiant tropical fish, just a few meters off the shore.
